  2. Thank you for trying Pitbull 3.0:

  4. This program is a 32-BIT program.  It requires a 32-bit operating system,
  5. like Windows 95.  If you are not running a 32-bit OS, there is an extender
  6. provided.  It is written by Charles Sandmann (sandmann@clio.rice.edu).
  7. The extender is provide with full source code.  Please contact the author
  8. for more information.

  10. This program can be run from Windows 95 in a dos box.  Or by creating a
  11. shortcut to it.  A PIF file is provided for this.

  16.   install.exe :  run this to install pitbull
  17.   dba.exe : my own archiving program.  Needed to install PB.
  18.   readme.txt : this file
  19.   pitbull.dat : the archived pitbull files.
  20.   file_id.diz : a short bbs description of this program.

  25.   pitbull.doc : wordpad 95 format documentation

  41. Installation Instructions:
  42.  
  43. If you are not running a 32-bit OS (in dos shell) IE: Windows 95, then
  44. install will use CWSDPMI.  If you want it to terminate and stay resident,
  45. run CWSDPMI -p and -u to uninstall it.  If CWSDPMI is in the same dir
  46. as the 32bit program you are trying to run, it will run itself auto-
  47. matically.

  49. To install, unzip to a temporary directory and type install.
  50.  
  51. Enter the pathname you wish to install to.  IE: c:\pitbull
  52. notice there is not \ at the end of pitbull.  Do not put one there.
  53.  
  54. To read PITBULL.DOC you need Wordpad for WIN 95
  55. To read PITBULL.TXT you should use the more command.
  56.         EX: more pitbull.txt
  57. To read REG.DOC use view.exe or any other text viewer.

  59. If you have trouble with installing, make sure you have sufficient hard
  60. drive space, you are in the temp directory when you run install, you
  61. do not already have the path you are trying to install to, and
  62. all the files are intact and present.

  64. ALSO:  IF INSTALL DOES NOT PROPERLY UNPAK THE PITBULL.DAT FILE...
  65. Then you need to reboot.  Sometimes this happens with computers not running
  66. a 32 bit OS.  The problem does not lie in install or dba.exe it lies
  67. in the OS.  Just reboot and install again.  Make sure you remove the old
  68. install directory first though.
